The principle of reflow welding is analyzed from the temperature characteristic curve of SMT. First, the solvents and gases in solder paste evaporate when PCB enters the preheating temperature range of 140 ~160 C. At the same time, the flux in the solder paste wets the pad, components'soldering ends and pins, solder paste softens and collapses, covering the pad, isolating the pad and components' pins from oxygen, and fully preheating the surface-mounted components.
Then, when entering the welding zone, the temperature rises rapidly at the rate of 2－3℃ per second in international standard, which makes the solder paste melt. The liquid solder is wetted, diffused, diffused and refluxed on the solder pad of PCB and the solder end and pin of components to form metal compounds on the solder interface,to form solder joint, and finally PCB enters the cooling zone to solidify the solder joint.
