The most obvious advantages of differential signals over ordinary single-ended signals are as follows:
1. The anti-jamming ability is strong, because the coupling between the two differential lines is very good. When there is external noise interference, it is coupled to two lines at the same time, and the receiver is only with the difference between the two signals. So the external common-mode noise can be completely offset.
2. It can be used to suppress EMI. Because of the opposite polarity of the two signals, the electromagnetic field emitted by the two signals can cancel each other. The closer the coupling is, the less the electromagnetic energy is released to the outside world.
3. The timing location is accurate.Because the switch change of the differential signal is located at the intersection of the two signals. Therefore, the ordinary single-terminal signal depends on two threshold voltages, it is less affected by the technology and temperature, and it can reduce the error in the time sequence. At the same time, it is more suitable for low amplitude signal circuit. At present, the popular LVDS (low voltage differential signaling) refers to the small amplitude differential signal technology.(main pcb board)
