The problem in manual solder joints is usually the use of inappropriate temperatures, too much pressure, and extended retention time. The root causes of these problems are often linked to the tools they use, not the skill and enthusiasm of the operators.
Another more advanced reason may be components with poor solderability, which can usually be replaced with a different cored tin flux. The use of externally applied liquid fluxes is another short-term alternative. In this case, the minimum amount required should be used in a controlled manner. The flux and residue tolerance should be verified by testing before using any liquid flux to aid in manual soldering. If the materials are from the same manufacturer, then you can go to the data sheet. If the materials come from different manufacturers, then the user is usually burdened with the test because there are too many possible combinations for any supplier.
